## Description

Ähtärin eläinpuisto, established in 1973, is Finland's oldest natural animal park, dedicated to wildlife conservation and education. Located in a serene environment, the park is home to approximately 30 different animal species and over 100 delightful residents. Visitors can enjoy a full day of exploration and relaxation amid nature, with cozy spots for picnicking and campfires that enhance the outdoor experience.

The park offers various services including ticket sales, a café, and group reservation options tailored for schools and organizations, allowing for special dietary arrangements if needed. Ähtärin eläinpuisto is operated by the nonprofit organization Vieraile ja Välität ry, which oversees the well-being of the animals, ensures they receive proper care, and organizes fundraising initiatives for their sustenance.

With a commitment to sustainability recognized by the Sustainable Travel Finland certification, the park also actively collaborates with EAZA for species conservation and welfare. Visitors are encouraged to immerse themselves in the tranquility and beauty of this unique wildlife sanctuary.
