## Description

Messermacher Kappeller GmbH is an Austrian knife-making business led by Ing. Richard Kappeller, whose craft has been his main profession since 2002. From its Salzburg workshop, the company makes handcrafted knives that combine function, considered design and traditional workmanship, using carefully selected materials. Its range includes kitchen, hunting and outdoor knives, folding knives and everyday-carry models, signature pieces, accessories and leather belts. Customers can also enquire about custom-made knives and small production runs.

Kappeller operates retail shops in Salzburg’s Getreidegasse and Vienna’s city centre, where visitors can view and handle a selection of the knives and arrange personal consultations. At the Salzburg workshop, guests can book a guided visit to see how the knives are made, or take part in practical courses. Offerings include knife-making, sharpening, folding-knife, leatherworking and engraving courses, with opportunities to create a knife under professional guidance. The business also provides course vouchers. Its work has received recognition including a first-place KNIFE AWARD in 2023 and Red Dot design awards for selected products.
