## Description

MetaGer is an open-source search and privacy service developed by SUMA-EV, a nonprofit organization dedicated to free access to knowledge. It helps people search the web without advertising, tracking or search logs, and combines results from multiple search engines to help protect against censorship. Results can include deep links, news and videos, while image search draws on additional sources. MetaGer also offers anonymous browsing: users can open websites through a private browser running on its servers, with session data automatically deleted when browsing ends. Access is managed with a randomly generated key rather than an account, so no name or email address is required. A one-time payment adds tokens to the key and enables ad-free search, anonymous browsing and other features; several payment methods are available, including cash. Users can use the same key across devices and share it with others. MetaGer provides an Android app, browser extension, and additional tools including Maps and citation search.
