Metalab is Vienna's oldest and largest hackerspace, offering a vibrant atmosphere where individuals with a passion for art, technology, society, and sciences come together to pursue their curiosity and engage in collaborative projects. As a hackspace, Metalab is not limited to computer systems hacking but embraces the concept of using knowledge and curiosity to overcome technical and creative challenges in various domains, including software systems, clothing, hardware, and more. Metalab's well-equipped facility includes tools and machines such as a laser cutter, 3D printers, CNC mill, sewing machines, and an electronics laboratory, available for use by guests under supervision. While membership is encouraged to support the space, visitors can enjoy most facilities without becoming a member. Metalab's friendly and knowledgeable members are always happy to provide tours and assistance during regular open days or the exclusive MetaInvasion day.
