## Description

Metanews is a blockchain-based platform focused on rebuilding trust in online identities and information. Combining AI analysis with on-chain verification, it aims to help users distinguish authentic people and content from bots, deepfakes, and misinformation. Its verification system cross-checks news sources and records authenticity proofs on an Ethereum Layer 2 network, making verification data transparent and tamper-resistant.

Users can connect a wallet, confirm their identity, and link social profiles to establish an on-chain reputation. Metanews also describes self-custody for identity data and reputation, an authenticity shield designed to detect bot-generated content, and community features that give verified profiles greater visibility and access to tools, features, and forums. For articles, the platform offers a process to check authenticity, trace original sources, and assess whether claims are supported by verified data.

Metanews presents these services as part of a broader ecosystem for making trust measurable and sources accountable online. Its stated goal is to support more credible digital interactions through a combination of AI, blockchain technology, identity verification, and community participation.
