## Description

Methven Heliski offers guided heli-skiing and heli-snowboarding adventures in New Zealand’s Southern Alps, about two hours from Christchurch. Operating in the Arrowsmiths, the company accesses the Arrowsmith, Ragged and Palmer ranges, with more than 1,000 square kilometres of mountain terrain and over 200 named runs. Its high-alpine landscape includes glaciers and descents for a range of abilities, from beginner to expert.

Guests can book the standard “Perfect” five-run day, add extra runs, or arrange a private helicopter charter. The company also offers a 1.5-day Avalanche Awareness course and gift vouchers for Methven Heliski or other Alpine Guides activities. Trips are professionally guided by Alpine Guides (Aoraki) Limited, with flights operated by The Helicopter Line. The business emphasizes safety, professional mountain guiding and personalized service, and has operated since 1986. Its office is in Methven and is open during the ski season, generally from late May through October. Methven Heliski is currently closed for the 2026 season and expects bookings to reopen in early 2027.
