## Description

Mevo is a car-sharing service operating in Wellington and Queenstown, offering a flexible alternative to owning a car. Members use the Mevo app to find and reserve a nearby vehicle, unlock it with their phone, and pay by the hour or day. The service suits everyday commutes, errands, weekend trips, and households seeking to do without a second car.

Mevo’s fares include parking, insurance, and road-user charges, while the first tank of fuel is provided for petrol vehicles. Drivers must return petrol cars with at least 30% fuel. Vehicles are located around the cities, and Mevo handles servicing, cleaning, and associated paperwork. To get started, customers register with a photo of their driver’s licence; approval can take minutes.

Mevo offers pay-as-you-go pricing as well as monthly Value and Frequent memberships. Plans differ in their discounts, included distance, and per-kilometre charges, with no monthly fee on the standard plan and no lock-in on memberships. Trips end by parking in the designated zone and following the app’s return instructions.
