## Description

Its open-source CLI stores canonical project memory as readable Markdown in a code repository, where it travels with Git. Local indexes and a Hub help agents read and maintain that context alongside the code. mex works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other AI coding tools.

The CLI is available for teams to install and use today. For organizations seeking centralized oversight, mex also offers a hosted product in early access. Its planned admin dashboard is designed to help teams review proposed additions to shared memory, monitor drift and coverage gaps, and govern access and policies across developers and repositories. This hosted service is distinct from the open-source CLI.

mex is intended for engineering teams, team leads, and scaling organizations that want agents to work from shared project conventions and decisions.
