About

Description

Meyer Family Cellars is a unique and distinguished brand among California wineries. What sets them apart is their production, which is evenly divided between site-specific wines from Mendocino County and Oakville, one of Napa Valley's premier growing regions for Cabernet Sauvignon. In Mendocino County, they carefully select grapes from two sub-appellations: the Yorkville Highlands and Anderson Valley AVAs.

The picturesque Anderson Valley is known for its elegant, restrained Chardonnay and exceptional Pinot Noir. Meyer Family Cellars partners with artisan growers in this region to produce vineyard-designate bottlings that showcase the best of California's cool-climate region. In Oakville, they have farmed and produced Cabernet Sauvignon from Bonny's Vineyard since the 1970s.

This narrow band of vineyards is renowned for its world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, thanks to its well-drained, sandy-gravelly soils and the cooling effects of fog and breezes from the San Pablo Bay. Lastly, the Yorkville Highlands appellation offers wines with a unique balance of acidity, structure, and richness. The vineyards benefit from cooling breezes and poor, gravelly soils, resulting in wines that capture both old world balanced acidity and minerality, as well as new world ripeness and forward fruit.
