Since its establishment in 1959, the company has earned a stellar reputation for its high-quality, durable, and performance-driven products. Their inflatable rescue and recovery equipment are widely used by fire brigades, mountain and lowland rescue teams, utilities, the military, and humanitarian organizations worldwide. Originally known as MFC Survival, the company started by producing life jackets and life rafts for the Royal Navy and South Wales commercial shipping ports. With time, their focus shifted towards designing and manufacturing specialized inflatable products for defense and rescue industries. MFC International has a rich history of innovation, including being the original inventor of airlift bags and one of the pioneers in manufacturing aircraft recovery bags and inflatable shelters. In 2013, MFC International became part of the Respirex International group, known for its high-performance chemical personal protective clothing and equipment. This collaboration has led to extensive product development, introducing new offerings such as the RC4000 Rescue Craft, Recovery Board, Evacuation Raft, and a range of Decontamination showers. The Rapid Response Shelters and Stak Jak lifting mats have also undergone significant redesign and improvement. With continuous investment in new tools and machinery, MFC International now carries out the entire process from design to manufacture under one roof in their South Wales factory. This expansion of their product range led to the rebranding of the business as MFC International in 2017.
