## Description

The Mark Fish Foundation is a South African organisation founded in the summer of 2017 by Mark Fish, who sees sport as a powerful way to empower young people and uplift communities. Its work is built around the belief that sport can change attitudes, develop skills and bring together people of different races and abilities. The foundation uses sport, particularly the shared experience of playing with a ball, as a platform for positive change that can cross social and economic boundaries.

Its activities include coaching and sports clinics, community events and competitions. Foundation coaching staff have worked with schools, including Eastside Primary School in Tshwane, where a clinic supported staff with coaching techniques. The foundation also held the GroundProbe Limpopo Knockout 2020 finals at Bloempoort Combined School. Beyond sport, it has participated in community initiatives, including a Women’s Day tribute to women in the iLembe District and Mark Fish’s talk about human trafficking.
