## Description

The Monumenta Germaniae Historica (MGH) is a research institute based in Munich, dedicated to the study and publication of historical sources, particularly those concerning the Middle Ages. Its work supports scholarship through critical editions of texts, academic studies, and the journal Deutsches Archiv für Erforschung des Mittelalters. MGH publications appear in established scholarly series, including newer collections devoted to digital editions and the history of medieval research.

The institute also provides extensive research resources and services. Its library offers literature searches, catalogue access, digital materials, manuscript catalogues, and access to a microfilm collection. Researchers can consult the MGH archive, archival finding aids, registers, and digitised documents. Online tools include the digital MGH collection, an open-access platform, databases, bibliographic searches, and technical interfaces for accessing digital content.

MGH shares news about research, collections, and institutional history, and hosts events such as online lectures and scholarly colloquia. Its website also provides information about fellowships, grants, membership, library registration, document delivery, and other services for researchers.
