The Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC) is an intercollegiate high-performance computing facility located in Holyoke, MA, 90 miles west of Boston. It is a joint venture of Boston University, Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, and the University of Massachusetts system. The MGHPCC serves a user community of over 20,000 faculty and student researchers and educators, providing computing and storage resources.
At the MGHPCC, users have access to extensive resources, enabling them to perform millions of virtual experiments monthly in areas like Climate, Energy, Medicine, Materials, Health, Space, and Computing. The facility is open to all and offers various services. The MGHPCC is the first university research data center to achieve LEED Platinum Certification, emphasizing its commitment to green design.
Collaboration among member institutions is encouraged, fostering cross-consortium projects. Moreover, the MGHPCC actively participates in education and outreach initiatives at local, regional, and national levels, aligning with the expanding education goals of its founding members
