## Description

The Leoš Janáček International Music Festival is a classical music festival bringing concerts and cultural events to the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. Named for composer Leoš Janáček, it presents chamber music and large-scale symphonic performances, alongside programmes that reach beyond traditional concert settings. Its events take place at venues including Ostrava’s Antonín Dvořák Theatre and the Hukvaldy amphitheatre, where audiences can experience open-air concerts and performances such as Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. Festival artists and ensembles featured in its programme include the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, conductor Tomáš Netopil, cellist Pablo Ferrández, the Police Symphony Orchestra and musician Thom Artway. The festival also supports emerging composers through Generation, an international composition competition for young composers, including participants from Central European countries. Organised under the production of the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, the festival offers audiences a varied programme that connects major classical works, contemporary creative talent and performances in distinctive regional settings. Its website provides programme details, ticket information, news, and information about discounts, partners and concert venues.
