About
Description
Melville House is an independent publisher that was founded in 2001 by sculptor Valerie Merians and writer Dennis Johnson. Located in Brooklyn, New York, the company initially started by publishing an anthology of poems called Poetry After 9/11 which received widespread acclaim. This success led Melville House to expand its list to include various genres such as literary fiction, political and activist nonfiction, cookbooks and books on food, and a classics line named The Art of the Novella.
With a commitment to diversity and supporting debut authors, Melville House takes pride in the range of its publications. The company has published works from two Nobel Prize winners, Imre Kertész and Heinrich Böll, as well as numerous New York Times bestsellers. In 2012, Melville House UK was established with its headquarters in London.
Whether you're a fan of thought-provoking fiction, engaging nonfiction, or literary classics, Melville House offers a unique and diverse selection of books that cater to every reader's taste
