About
Description
The MICA Project is a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 by Nicole Cortés and Jessica Mayo, two law students who recognized the urgent need for affordable immigration legal services. Through a combination of community outreach and legal assistance, the MICA Project aims to empower and uplift immigrant communities by promoting their voice and dignity. With their proactive approach, the MICA Project provides immigrants with the resources and information they need to navigate legal issues effectively.
From family cases to naturalization, removal defense, and asylum and refugee matters, their dedicated team handles a wide range of immigration cases. By offering affordable and accessible services, they ensure that low-income clients can access justice and receive the support they deserve. Additionally, the MICA Project works towards long-term goals by equipping their clients with the confidence, skills, and legal status to become community leaders.
Through educational outreach and collaborative presentations, they create opportunities for non-immigrants to understand and engage with the complex issues surrounding immigration. Ultimately, the MICA Project seeks to foster social change and unity within communities
