## Description

Michael Koncewicz is a historian, author, curator, and teacher specializing in political and public history. He is Associate Director of New York University’s Institute for Public Knowledge, where his work connects historical research with public discussion. His experience includes working at the National Archives’ Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum, where he contributed to a nonpartisan Watergate exhibit, and serving as a curator at NYU’s Tamiment Library and Robert F. Wagner Labor Archives, which focus on labor and left-wing history.

Koncewicz’s first book, They Said ‘No’ to Nixon: Republicans Who Stood Up to the President’s Abuses of Power, was published in 2018. Drawing on recordings and newly released archival materials, it examines Republicans who resisted Nixon’s efforts to expand presidential power. He is currently writing an authorized biography of longtime progressive activist and legislator Tom Hayden, scheduled for publication by the University of California Press in 2027. His writing has appeared in The Atlantic, The Los Angeles Times, The Nation, and The Washington Post.
