## Description

The Micron BioImaging Facility is a collaborative, interdisciplinary centre supporting researchers in Oxford and beyond with advanced biological imaging. Based in the University of Oxford’s Department of Biochemistry, it helps users apply cellular imaging techniques to important questions in biology, offering guidance from project planning through to publication. Its services include expert consultation, technical support, and comprehensive teaching in microscopy, from widefield and confocal imaging to a range of super-resolution methods. The facility provides access to two dedicated imaging suites, cell culture and wet laboratory facilities, and an image analysis suite, alongside image analysis tools and bespoke development systems. It also supports internal and external researchers, including industry users. Through courses, equipment workshops, demonstrations, and contributions to the Department of Biochemistry’s MBiochem teaching, Micron shares practical microscopy expertise. Its Leica Centre of Excellence gives researchers access to advanced optical microscopy systems for routine and specialist subcellular imaging. As part of the Oxford BioImaging Network, the facility connects users with Oxford’s wider portfolio of cutting-edge microscopes.
