## Description

The Middle East Directions Programme (MEDirections) is a prestigious research initiative based at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS) within the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy. Focused on the dynamic and complex realities of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, MEDirections fosters interdisciplinary research aimed at understanding the socio-political, security, and religious transformations occurring locally, nationally, and transnationally.

Through rigorous fieldwork and collaboration with regional researchers, MEDirections explores critical areas such as conflict dynamics, political economy, and their implications for governance and reconstruction efforts in the region. The programme actively contributes to contemporary discourse on key issues, including the impact of geopolitical changes on the MENA region and Europe, and engages in policy-oriented research to inform decision-making processes.

In addition to research, MEDirections hosts events, training programs, and produces various publications, ensuring a comprehensive approach to tackling the challenges facing the MENA region today.
