## Description

Midwest Therapeutic Riding Program (MTRP) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving children with special needs in northeastern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin. Based in Union Grove, Wisconsin, the program works with children ages 2½ to 18, offering adaptive horseback riding, occupational therapy incorporating hippotherapy, and speech-language therapy.

MTRP’s mission is to improve the lives of children with special needs through equine-facilitated activities and individualized care that helps each child maximize their potential. Through relationships with horses and participation in riding sessions, children can build independence and develop important life skills. Activities may support communication, including speaking and signing, as well as movement, focus, and engagement in therapy. The program aims to create an encouraging environment where children can explore their abilities, experience connection with horses, and enjoy the freedom and confidence that riding can bring.

MTRP also invites community members to support its work through donations and corporate sponsorship. Its facility is located at 1451 172nd Avenue, Union Grove, Wisconsin.
