World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness and promoting the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. Celebrated on the second Saturday of May and October across different regions, WMBD engages the public through approximately 700 events and programs annually. These events focus on education about the critical role insects play in the life cycle of migratory birds, emphasizing the need for habitat preservation and sustainable agricultural practices. 

Through resources such as coloring pages, presentations, and event flyers, WMBD encourages grassroots participation worldwide. In 2024, the campaign highlights the theme "Insects and their Importance to Migratory Birds," urging communities to adopt simple conservation measures. WMBD collaborates with global partners, including the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species (CMS) and the East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP), to further its mission. Join us in protecting these vital species through various activities, educational resources, and advocacy efforts—because every day is a chance to celebrate and support our migratory birds!
