## Description

Stichting Nationale Milieudatabase (NMD) is an independent Dutch foundation supporting sustainable construction by making environmental performance calculations for buildings and other structures clear and consistent. It manages and maintains the Dutch Environmental Database and the Assessment Method for Environmental Performance of Construction Works, providing a shared basis for evaluating environmental impacts in the Dutch context.

The NMD offers a searchable viewer where construction professionals can find environmental declarations and data by product name or category. It also provides guidance, calculation tools and information for manufacturers, sustainability professionals, LCA practitioners and reviewers. Resources cover environmental data, life cycle assessments, data verification, database categories, legislation and the application of environmental performance methods to new and existing buildings.

For producers whose products are not yet listed, the foundation offers information about registering environmental declarations and the Filling the Gaps compensation scheme, including support for eligible LCAs and declarations. The NMD also shares training through the NMD Academy, answers common questions, publishes news and guidance, and hosts events.
