## Description

The Millennium Cohort Study is a groundbreaking research project initiated by the Department of Defense in 2001. It was created in response to the growing public concern about the potential health effects of military deployments following the Vietnam and Gulf War conflicts. With over a quarter of a million service members enrolled since its inception, the Millennium Cohort Study is the largest and longest-running health study in military history. Its primary goal is to examine how military-related experiences impact the long-term health of service members. The findings of this study have the potential to shape healthcare policy for future generations of military personnel and guide prevention and treatment programs. The study encompasses multiple generations of warfighters and boasts a diverse participant base in terms of demographic characteristics and military and deployment experience. Led by Principal Investigator Rudy Rull, a team of dedicated epidemiologists, biostatisticians, research psychologists, and other professionals work tirelessly at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, California. The study is supported by a strategic board comprising esteemed professionals from various fields.
