## Description

Mimili Maku Arts is a vibrant contemporary art studio located in the remote North-West of South Australia on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) lands. With a strong board of Anangu directors, the studio supports artists across various disciplines, including painting, new media, sculpture, and publishing. At Mimili Maku Arts, intergenerational exchange and learning are celebrated, allowing Anangu knowledge to be maintained and practiced daily. As a sustainable business, the studio not only promotes artistic excellence but also serves as a tool for social change and political advocacy. Upholding the vision of Elders, Mimili Maku Arts plays a vital role in driving economic, cultural, and social Anangu leadership. Additionally, the studio collaborates with other APY communities to develop large-scale artistic projects and supports young and emerging artists through their own galleries in Sydney and Adelaide. Funding for Mimili Maku Arts is received through the Australian Government's Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support Program.
