## Description

Mineralienatlas is a community-supported online platform for people interested in mineralogy, geology, palaeontology and mining. Established in 2001, it brings together educational resources and a comprehensive database covering minerals, fossils, rocks and their localities. Its encyclopedia includes mineral portraits, classifications, crystallography, geological information, mining topics and fossil resources, alongside literature, equipment guidance and methods of examination. Visitors can explore image galleries, featured photographs, news and forum discussions, as well as search the encyclopedia by text, mineral properties or chemistry. The site also provides a calendar of mineral and fossil events and invites members to contribute to its growing collection of knowledge. Mineralienatlas is maintained and expanded by a worldwide community of more than 10,000 members and serves hundreds of thousands of visitors each month. Geolitho Foundation non-profit GmbH supports the platform, its collection-management project and a collector-focused marketplace and store. Through these earth-science projects, the foundation promotes public education and the continued development of accessible resources for collectors and other learners.
