## Description

Miniscope is an open-source neuroscience project associated with UCLA, providing miniature microscopy tools and resources for in vivo recording in freely behaving animals. Its work brings together designs, software, protocols, and analysis resources to help researchers build and use Miniscopes. The project’s offerings include microscope designs and accessories, assembly guides, calibration instructions, and other practical tutorials. Its data acquisition software supports recording workflows, with the latest release offering builds for Windows, Linux, and macOS, as well as built-in commutator control. Miniscope also shares information about emerging technologies, including Miniscope Zero, a fully wireless miniature microscope designed to stream single-cell-resolution calcium imaging without a tether or large onboard battery. Beyond hardware and software, the project maintains a public knowledge base, discussion forum, experiment registry, and publication resources. Researchers can connect with other users, exchange methods, and explore studies using Miniscopes. Workshops, training activities, and drop-in office hours provide additional opportunities to learn and get support.
