## Description

The Ministry of Privacy is a private foundation based in Ghent, Belgium, working to put privacy higher on the public agenda and help people take greater control of their personal information. Its initiatives span informing, responding to privacy concerns, education, legal action, mediation and publishing. The organisation shares news and commentary through its website and MinistryTalks, a privacy magazine featuring opinions, long-form articles and current affairs.

The Ministry also supports campaigns and legal proceedings on privacy issues. Past initiatives have challenged the Covid Safe Ticket and the sharing of bank-account balances with tax authorities, using crowdfunding to help fund legal action. Its work includes bringing cases before Belgian courts and pursuing matters at the European level.

For people who want to support its activities, the Ministry offers membership, donation and opportunities to get involved. Its offerings also include a practical privacy book, merchandise and tools, alongside campaigns and public engagement such as the Big Brother Award.
