## Description

Minnertsga Vroeger is a local-history initiative run by the working group of Vereniging Plaatselijk Belang Minnertsga e.o. It preserves and shares the history of Minnertsga and its surrounding area, documenting the village’s past in words and images for future generations. Its website brings together historical stories, news, archival information, and resources for people researching local history and family connections.

Visitors can explore a searchable collection of nearly 11,000 photographs, documents, and objects, including images of residents, homes, farms, and places beyond Minnertsga. An online family-history program contains information on more than 13,000 people, often accompanied by photographs, and is continually expanded. The site also provides searchable archival inventories, family-name and media searches, publications, historical lists, and records such as an occupations directory and a 1921–1977 trade register.

The group welcomes photographs, letters, diaries, films, and other historically valuable material for the village archive. The archive is open to visitors on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
