## Description

MIRS, the Interactive Museum of Radio and Society, is a museum in Pasiano di Pordenone, Italy, created by the municipal administration to preserve and share a collection donated by local researcher Pier Giorgio Vendramini. Its carefully selected historic radios trace the technological and cultural development of Italy and the wider world. Rather than focusing on nostalgia, MIRS combines radio sets and collectible objects with experimental stations, interactive displays, educational materials and workshops. Visitors can explore how radio transformed communication and society—and how it continues to evolve today.

The museum’s themes include the science and technology behind radio, its role in major historical events, and its influence as a medium for information, propaganda, music and entertainment. MIRS offers themed guided tours, educational and hands-on activities, and visits for schools and groups by reservation. The museum is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, with seasonal afternoon hours and Sunday morning opening throughout the year.
