## Description

Misericordia di Sassari is a volunteer-based charitable association serving the community of Sassari, Sardinia. Its work focuses on emergency response, healthcare transport, civil protection, and practical support for people in need. The association operates ambulances for medical transport to and from hospitals, clinics, and care homes, and provides basic emergency medical response in the city. Its civil protection activities include wildfire response, specialist operations, and health assistance, as part of regional and national civil protection networks. Through its social services, Misericordia supports older people, people with disabilities, and those who are ill, helping with everyday needs and seeking to ease the difficulties they face.

The association also encourages community involvement through annual membership, volunteer opportunities, and donations, including Italy’s five-per-thousand tax designation. It offers a basic training course for volunteer rescuers and promotes initiatives such as health-focused events and volunteer holidays. Based in Sassari, Misericordia di Sassari invites residents to contribute their time, skills, or financial support to strengthen its services and community work.
