## Description

MISS READ is a Berlin-based art book fair and festival founded in 2009, bringing together artists, independent publishers, and audiences interested in experimental publishing. Described as Europe’s leading event for artists’ books and conceptual publications, it treats publishing as an artistic, political, and poetic practice. Its international gathering of exhibitors showcases a wide range of voices, formats, and perspectives, supporting bibliodiversity as an alternative to cultural homogenisation and market concentration.

Alongside its fair, MISS READ presents a public program of lectures, panel discussions, performances, readings, and book launches exploring contemporary publishing and the connections between visual art and literature. Its activities also include pre-fair workshops, sonic experiments, and radio broadcasts developed with Station of Commons. The organisation supports independent publishing ecosystems through initiatives such as BIPOC Support Grants for artists and publishers. MISS READ’s annual events create space for critical discourse, creative exchange, and the circulation of independent publications across international networks.
