## Description

Mission Explo creates immersive educational experiences that bring history to life for elementary school pupils in cycle 3. Founded by Isabelle, a children’s author and elementary teacher, and Jérémy, who is passionate about history and heritage, the organization combines classroom learning with field trips and residential visits. Its first program, “La Mission du Poilu,” is a historical and memorial serious game focused on the First World War in the Marne and Meuse regions.

Through guided circuits, pupils explore trench mazes, a restored fort at Verdun, French and German rest camps, and villages destroyed in the former Red Zone. They learn about soldiers’ lives at the front and behind the lines, as well as civilian experiences, and can handle historical objects and meet interpreters portraying soldiers. The experience concludes with a moment of remembrance at the Flame of Remembrance. Mission Explo offers 15 itineraries, including day trips and multi-day stays, designed to make learning interactive and memorable. After 12 years of experience, the team reports welcoming more than 20,000 visitors.
