## Description

Mission Zero Academy (MiZA), based in Brussels and affiliated with Zero Waste Europe, helps municipalities, small and medium-sized enterprises, and other changemakers advance zero waste and circular economy practices. Its work supports Europe’s transition toward more sustainable waste management through practical guidance, learning, tools, and recognized certification programs.

MiZA’s capacity-building services include expert-led courses, educational materials, workshops, webinars, and study tours. Its learning platform offers practical training and insights for organizations developing their zero waste skills. For municipalities and businesses, MiZA provides certification standards designed to recognize and assess their actions and progress. The Zero Waste Cities and Zero Waste Business programs support organizations in putting their commitments into practice.

MiZA also offers ready-made tools to help users measure waste management activities, track progress, and consider future scenarios to inform decisions. Through these services, the academy works to make effective zero waste implementation more accessible and meaningful. Its community includes more than 60 cities, 19 certified zero waste cities, and over 300 academy learners, reflecting its reach across Europe and beyond.
