## Description

MIWI Institute, also identified as the Institute for Market Integration and Economic Policy, is a Germany-focused economic policy research institute led by chief economist J.C. Kofner. It examines current economic issues through research, analysis, publications, and public discussion, with work spanning public finances and economic growth, demographics and social welfare, climate and energy policy, digitization and innovation, regional integration and foreign economic affairs, and identity and society.

The institute publishes policy notes, economic assessments, and commentary on topics such as industrial policy, investment, sanctions, foreign trade, energy costs, migration, and Germany’s fiscal outlook. Its articles and reports are authored by MIWI economists and, in some cases, external contributors. MIWI also participates in expert discussions, seminars, parliamentary hearings, and policy events, and has provided policy advice for an AfD economic strategy panel. Its website features news, press releases, upcoming events, and media coverage, offering readers access to its research and perspectives on economic policy in Germany and beyond.
