## Description

Mizz Mercedez is the creative and educational brand of Mercedes Yarbrough, a St. Paul artist and educator who makes learning engaging through comics, cartoons, games, and culturally relevant lessons. The brand focuses on inspiring children, particularly children of color, by presenting history and achievement from a positive perspective. Its Black to the Future comic introduces young readers to Black inventors and their contributions, including Madam C. J. Walker, Lonnie Johnson, Augustus Jackson, and Dr. Patricia Bath. The accompanying video game extends that learning through interactive play.

Mizz Mercedez also shares educational and creative content about topics such as Black history, women’s achievements, leadership, and double Dutch. The website features RONDO, videos, articles, music, and other media, alongside a shop where visitors can explore and purchase available products. Through these resources, Mizz Mercedez aims to make education enjoyable, encourage creativity, and help young people see their histories, interests, and possibilities reflected in what they learn. The brand’s message, “We Are the change,” reinforces its emphasis on positive inspiration and future leadership.
