## Description

MJC Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in April 2023 to help young people pursue their passion for basketball. The foundation provides scholarships to deserving boys and girls who want to participate in basketball programs but face financial hardship. Its support is intended to make opportunities in the sport more accessible to youth who might otherwise be unable to afford them.

The organization was created in memory of Mekhi Jamal Clemons, a talented and dedicated basketball player who died on September 21, 2022, at age 26. Mekhi began playing with the Perkiomen Valley Youth Basketball Travel team in fourth grade, later competed for Perkiomen Valley High School, and played for Rosemont College from 2014 to 2018. At Rosemont, he led the Ravens in scoring, earned Colonial States Athletic Conference All-Conference recognition, and graduated as the winningest player in the program’s history. He later played semi-professionally with the Norristown Knights and Red Rose Thunder. Through scholarships and related activities, the foundation honors Mekhi’s legacy and passion for the game.
