## Description

Master Mentors Geo-Enabling Indian Scholars (MMGEIS) is a free online educational initiative by the Centre for Knowledge Sovereignty and Esri India, designed to help students explore geospatial technology and develop spatial-thinking skills. Open to eligible school students in classes 6–12 and undergraduates in related fields, the program welcomes learners from different academic streams and requires no prior experience. Its aim is to nurture curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving while encouraging innovation and the creation of intellectual property in India’s geospatial sector.

Participants learn about maps, geography and spatial data, including how these fields connect with artificial intelligence and extended reality. The program combines expert-led lessons and inspirational talks with group mentoring, interactive activities, GIS mapping and practical, real-world problem-solving. Students can also gain exposure to geospatial applications through organized visits, including a visit to ISRO’s ISTRAC described on the site. Program rewards include an achievement certificate, a letter of recommendation and a 21-day ArcGIS personal-use license with data.
