About
Description
The Minnesota Center for Book Arts (MCBA) is a nonprofit visual arts center founded in 1983 that celebrates and explores the art of the book. At MCBA, we believe that the book is not just a literary object but also a vibrant contemporary art form that takes many shapes. Our dedicated team of artists and staff practice traditional bookbinding, letterpress printing, hand papermaking, paper marbling, and more.
We offer a wide range of classes and workshops for both youth and adults, providing opportunities for individuals of all skill levels to engage with book art techniques. Our galleries feature numerous exhibitions throughout the year, showcasing the work of established and emerging artists. Visitors are welcome to explore our gallery and working studios, and we encourage you to visit The Shop, where you'll find unique artwork, art supplies, and bookish gifts.
MCBA is committed to accessibility, and our facilities are ADA accessible. We also strive to provide special accommodations to ensure that our programs are enjoyable for everyone. We are proud to be supported by grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board, the National Endowment for the Arts, private funders, MCBA members, and individuals like you.
Join us at MCBA to discover the beauty and innovation of book arts and be part of our vibrant community!
