The Minnesota Soil Health Coalition is a producer-driven information exchange that aims to promote the principles of soil health practices. Recognizing the multiple benefits of soil health in Minnesota, this organization was created by producers implementing soil health practices who understand the importance of a producer-driven, producer-led soil health organization in the state. Their mission is to provide education, outreach, and adoption of soil health practices through information exchange. The goals of the Minnesota Soil Health Coalition include promoting best management practices on working lands, advocating for large-scale adoption of soil health practices to positively impact soil erosion, surface water quality, and soil infiltration. They also aim to organize various events, trainings, field days, and meetings with producers and other entities in order to establish a research base and develop agreements with farmers for monitoring soil health, management, and economics. Additionally, they offer leadership development, education, and training opportunities along with a farmer-to-farmer mentor program, networking opportunities, and a statewide soil health forum. Led by an elected board of Minnesota agriculture producers, the nonprofit Minnesota Soil Health Coalition is dedicated to advancing soil health practices and making a positive impact on the environment and agricultural production in the state.
