Description
The Minnesota State Fair is an annual event that celebrates the community and its agricultural heritage. Since 1976, the fair has recognized farms through its Century Farm program, honoring those that have been in continuous ownership by a family for 100 years or more. Over 11,000 Minnesota farms have received this prestigious recognition, receiving an outdoor sign and a certificate signed by the governor, the Minnesota Farm Bureau, and the Minnesota State Fair.
The fair also acknowledges outstanding individuals with the 50 Year Award, presented to those who have actively participated in the fair for 50 years as employees, exhibitors, vendors, or volunteers. Recipients are honored in a special award ceremony and have their names added to a permanent plaque. For aspiring youth exhibitors in the livestock industry, the fair provides the Beginning Exhibitor Livestock Learning Experience (BELLE) Grant, offering financial assistance to first-time participants.
Peer mentors are also available to guide and support the grant recipients. The fair is invested in the educational endeavors of young adults from Greater Minnesota, offering scholarships of up to $2,000 to support their educational pursuits. In addition to recognizing farms and individuals, the Minnesota State Fair acknowledges its most outstanding vendors with Best Awards.
You can also honor loved ones and show your love for the fair by placing a personalized bench or table on the fairgrounds through the State Fair Foundation's recognition program. The Minnesota State Fair is not only a celebration of agriculture but also a platform for recognition and support, fostering community, and creating memorable experiences for all
