## Description

Mocănița Huțulca offers heritage railway journeys through the forests, hills and historic landscapes of Bucovina, Romania. The experience combines narrow-gauge rail travel with a glimpse of the region’s traditions and natural beauty. From Moldovița, visitors can choose between two return routes: a 25-kilometre, approximately three-hour trip to Argel aboard a steam locomotive, or a 10-kilometre, approximately 1-hour-and-40-minute journey to Vatra Moldoviței using a diesel locomotive. The latter includes a stop that allows time to visit Moldovița Monastery, noted for its exterior frescoes. Steam journeys may occasionally be operated by a diesel locomotive for safety and continuity. Seasonal open-sided cars have roofs and mesh-covered sides. The website provides schedules, availability checks and advance online reservations; tickets are paid for in cash. Reservations are required, and passengers should arrive at the ticket office at least 15 minutes before departure. Children under three travel free when accompanied by a parent and do not occupy a seat. Group charter trains are recommended for larger parties.
