## Description

The Ministry of Defence of Kenya (MOD) is a vital governmental body responsible for ensuring the country's defense and internal security. Established after Kenya's independence, it has evolved significantly, transitioning from the Ministry of Internal Security and Defence to its current designation, driven by constitutional reforms. At the helm of the MOD is the Cabinet Secretary, who oversees policy matters while the Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) leads the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

The Ministry is committed to facilitating the KDF, ensuring they are a credible and capable force grounded in professionalism. Its mandate encompasses a wide range of services, including military operations, public communication, human resource management, and financial administration. The MOD also supports peacekeeping missions and manages various initiatives and publications related to its operations, such as War for Peace and the KDF Journal. With a dedicated civilian workforce of over 2,000 personnel, the Ministry plays a crucial role in maintaining national security and supporting military endeavors.
