Modernism Week is a brand that aims to celebrate and foster appreciation of midcentury architecture and design, as well as contemporary thinking in these fields. Based in Palm Springs, California, Modernism Week is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to education, preservation, and sustainable modern living. Their flagship event is Modernism Week, a world-class, eleven-day celebration held every February in Greater Palm Springs. With over 120,000 attendees and more than 350 events, this event showcases midcentury modern design, architecture, art, fashion, and culture. From the Modernism Show and Signature Home Tours to films, lectures, parties, and live music events, the festival offers a diverse range of experiences. In addition to the February event, Modernism Week also hosts a four-day event called Modernism Week – October in the fall, offering popular tours, talks, and parties. Throughout the season, they also offer Architecture Tours by Modernism Week, providing an intimate look at Palm Springs' important architectural history and midcentury modern culture. As a charitable organization, Modernism Week awards scholarships to local students pursuing careers in architecture and design and supports preservation efforts throughout California.
