## Description

Modern Poetry in Translation (MPT) is a distinguished literary magazine founded in 1965 by Ted Hughes and Daniel Weissbort. The organization was established with the mission to bridge the gap between international poetry and English-speaking audiences, particularly by sharing works from behind the Iron Curtain. Over the past five decades, MPT has evolved into a vital platform that showcases a diverse array of contemporary poetry, essays, and reviews from around the world. MPT is committed to amplifying the voices of the silenced and marginalized, fostering an inclusive community of poets, translators, and readers. The magazine actively engages in a variety of initiatives, including translation workshops, public poetry readings, and the publication of poetry pamphlets. Under the guidance of its current editor, Janani Ambikapathy, MPT continues to honor its rich legacy while exploring new poetic landscapes and translations. With a focus on high-quality, impactful literary work, Modern Poetry in Translation invites all to explore the beauty and complexity of world poetry.
