## Description

Modern Stoicism is a UK-registered not-for-profit organization bringing together academics and psychotherapists to explore the practical value of ancient Stoic philosophy. Run by volunteers and without regular funding, it offers free online courses that introduce Stoic ideas and practices. Its flagship initiative, Stoic Week, is an annual program, while Stoic Mindfulness and Resilience Training (SMRT) is a longer course offered at various times. The organization also researches how Stoic practices affect participants, drawing on course data; its reported findings indicate reductions in negative emotions and improvements in overall life satisfaction.

Modern Stoicism organizes Stoicon, an annual event where participants can meet and share their experiences, and encourages local groups to host Stoicon-x events. Its website provides introductory resources about Stoicism, research, events, and the Stoicism Today blog, a major online forum for contemporary Stoic thought. The blog features articles on applying Stoic principles to topics such as resilience, judgment, virtue, and everyday challenges, and offers selected essays in book form.
