## Description

Modified Independence Evaluations Inc. is a veteran-owned business serving Northeast Florida, focused on helping seniors and people with disabilities live safely and independently at home. Led by Kris Wilson, an occupational therapist and ADA specialist in the Jacksonville area, the company brings experience across disability support and different levels of care. It also helps fellow veterans make the most of available grants.

Services include home safety evaluations, aging-in-place and fall-prevention guidance, equipment recommendations, and consultations on accessible, barrier-free modifications. Assessments consider areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, identifying risks and practical changes that can support mobility and independence. Clients receive informed recommendations and connections to resources for completing modifications, whether they use professional contractors or undertake work themselves.

Modified Independence Evaluations aims to help individuals and families make educated, cost-conscious decisions about home safety. Its guidance may reveal simpler alternatives to extensive renovations and help families assess options before considering in-home care or assisted living.
