## Description

MoES GoI, the Ministry of Earth Sciences under the Government of India, is dedicated to providing a range of essential services. These services include weather forecasting, climate assessment, monitoring of ocean and coastal states, hydrological information, seismological data, and natural hazard monitoring. In addition, MoES focuses on sustainable exploration and utilization of marine resources and conducting research and exploration in the Arctic, Antarctic, and Himalayan regions. Previously known as the Department of Ocean Development (DOD), MoES was established in July 1981 as part of the Cabinet Secretariat and later became a separate department in March 1982. As a nodal institute, MoES is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and promoting ocean development activities. With its commitment to research, monitoring, and sustainable resource management, MoES GoI ensures the well-being and safety of India's natural environment and coastal areas.
