Molly Tuttle is a renowned singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for her exceptional contributions to the bluegrass genre. Her latest album, City of Gold, showcases a compelling collection of stories that explore themes of love, loss, and adventure, all rooted in her Northern California upbringing. Teaming up with her band, Golden Highway, Tuttle brings a fresh energy to her music, which is characterized by virtuosic guitar work and a blend of styles that includes elements of roots-rock and folk. The album features engaging tracks like “El Dorado,” inspired by her childhood memories of the California gold rush, and “Yosemite,” a poignant duet with Dave Matthews. Tuttle's songwriting deftly addresses contemporary issues, as seen in songs about marijuana legalization and gentrification.
