## Description

MOMAR is an early-stage planetary exploration project developing tools to help people understand terrain and plan future missions on the Moon and Mars. Its working Mars prototype brings together public NASA and USGS data in an interactive planner focused on Jezero and Gale craters, with options to create site plans elsewhere on the planet. Users can compare terrain layers, assess slope, roughness and other route risks, and plan journeys with multiple stops. The planner also identifies CRISM mineral observations near a route, displays relevant Perseverance photographs, and creates mission reports and GeoJSON exports. Three-dimensional playback illustrates routes, terrain, sunlight and mission timing. MOMAR’s SOZO AI Scientist can explain route choices, time budgets, risks and research using the planner’s data and cited papers. The project also presents a lunar south-pole workspace and longer-term concepts for rovers, autonomous exploration, habitats and robotic construction. Founded by Durga Prashad, MOMAR is a prototype built on archived public data, not an operational safety system or a NASA- or ISRO-endorsed product.
