Monaca is renowned for its exceptional Central Valley School District, which was established on July 1, 2009, and represents the first voluntary merger of public school districts in the state.

This district encompasses the former Center Area and Monaca school districts, including the municipalities of Center Township, Potter Township, and Monaca Borough.
